Important update re: Outpatient appointments – 3.2.21

Please be aware at present, due to Covid restriction on clinics we are unable to chase individual hospital appointments.  Covid-19 is impacting immensely on outpatient clinics being either closed or running at minimum capacity.  This is causing a delay with some services whilst some are no longer operational; if you are unsure contact the relevant department to enquire.

In exceptional circumstances where your symptoms have greatly worsened and of an urgent nature we would advise you to call the surgery to request a Duty Doctor call back.  The GP/Clinician can then document the change in your symptoms and assess as to whether your appointment can be expedited.  We must advise that in some cases, depending on the speciality GP requests are not processed due to lack of clinics currently running.

Please contact the hospital that you have been referred to and ask to speak to the appointment booking clerk.  A contact number can usually be found on your hospital letter.
